Iconic 1960's Beachfront Shack
Arku house is a beachfront escape set in the incredibly picturesque Sisters Beach. Completely engulfed in nature, the shack overlooks Sisters Island, has unobstructed views of the ocean and river, is surrounded by lush National Park and boasts private beachfront access.
The house is an A-frame shack built in the 1960's that has been designed to ensure you feel a sense of calm and tranquility the moment you step through the door.
The design focus for Arku is heavily inspired by New Mediterranean design. Being professionally designed a lot of the pieces throughout the shack are one of a kind and or antiques. You will find an array of books, some focusing on the Mediterranean lifestyle which will give you insight into our inspiration.
Old & New
Venetian plaster has been lovingly plastered along the walls of the shack bringing depth and warmth.
The floors have been kept in their original state to remind all of our guests of the long life this little shack has had. You'll find Tassie oak throughout, creating a perfectly imperfect finish integrating the old with the new.

You will have exclusive access to the property including private beachfront access through our lush garden path, private and exclusive access to the shack and the movie cinema.

Arku House is fitted with an electronic key pad for a safe and smooth check in experience. You will be sent your unique code on the day of check in.
Check in is after 2pm and check out is before 10am.
There is free parking on the driveway space is available for 2 cars!
Unfortunately we do not allow pets.
Due to the bespoke and antique furnishings/decor, being in extremely close proximity to the ocean and river and due to the steep stair cases throughout the property we unfortunately are unable to host children and infants.
Arku House is located a scenic 2 hour and 25 minute drive from Launceston Airport and a 20 minute drive from Burnie airport.
We are a unique stay and therefore you may come across some quirks that add character to the A Frame.
Arku House has a steep internal staircase along with a large external staircase to enter the home please keep this in mind when booking as it will not suit people with mobility issues.
